Maslow: Life Pyramid

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 11, 2026

The short version: Maslow has no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no third-party services. Everything you log stays on your device and in your own private iCloud. I — the developer — never see any of it.

What Maslow stores

Maslow keeps the data you create in the app: your layers, daily goals, check-ins, logged entries, and the day-by-day history of your pyramid. All of it lives in a database on your device.

iCloud sync

If you're signed in to iCloud, Maslow syncs its database to the private iCloud database tied to your Apple Account, using Apple's CloudKit. That keeps your pyramid backed up and in sync across your devices. This storage belongs to you: it is encrypted by Apple, and the developer has no access to it whatsoever — there is no server of mine involved, and no way for me to read, query, or export your data.

You can turn sync off at any time in iOS Settings by disabling iCloud for Maslow.

Apple Health

With your explicit permission, Maslow reads data from Apple Health, solely to fill the matching layers of your pyramid automatically:

iOS asks you before Maslow can read each kind of data, and you can allow some and not others. Maslow is read-only: it never writes to Apple Health, and your health data is never shared with, sold to, or made accessible to anyone, including the developer. Health data is never used for advertising or any purpose other than showing your own pyramid.

You can review or revoke Health access at any time in the Health app under Profile → Privacy → Apps → Maslow, or in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.

Notifications

Maslow can send optional evening reminders to check in. These are local notifications, scheduled entirely on your device — no notification server, no tokens, nothing leaves your device.

Widgets

The home-screen and lock-screen widgets read a small snapshot of today's pyramid from a private container shared between the app and the widget, on your device only.

In-app purchases

The optional Studio items — finishes, lamps and environments — are bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment; Maslow never sees your payment details, and only receives Apple's confirmation of which items you own, so it can unlock them on your devices.

No tracking, no third parties

The only network traffic Maslow generates goes to Apple: iCloud sync between your devices and your private iCloud storage, and the App Store when you buy or restore a Studio item.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes all Maslow data from your device. To also remove the iCloud copy, go to iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage, select Maslow, and delete its data.

Children

Maslow is not directed at children, and — since it collects nothing — no personal information is ever gathered from anyone, of any age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date. Since Maslow's design keeps all data with you, meaningful changes are unlikely.
